On a cold February evening, architects from Purcell’s Bristol studio took a group of UWE Bristol students on a visit to see the practices’ s completed Aerospace Bristol museum. The visit was to provide students on the RIBA Student Mentoring Scheme with an insight on the process of a project from inception to completion.
Relationships between local architects and planning teams at local authorities have been strengthened in the South West, making it easier for local authorities to update and consult RIBA members on planning policy and for RIBA members to discuss their professional concerns or contribute their recommendations.
Over 500 students and architects attended the RIBA Annual Lecture 2017 series at universities running RIBA validated courses across the South West from September to November. The lectures mixed up students and practicing RIBA architects to stimulate new student-professional connections, and provided a window into the work of the RIBA.
